Good Golfers - Better People
The First Tee of Phoenix is impacting more than 100,000 youth in Maricopa County each year through four different programs designed for participants to learn valuable life skills and character lessons through creative activities and instructional programs that incorporate the fundamental teachings of golf. These four programs are:
- The First Tee Life Skills Experience (15 Golf Course locations)
- The National School Program (incorporated into more than 150 school's PE curriculum)
- DRIVE Program (after school programs at numerous Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and other allied organizations)
- Outreach Program (quarterly events to engage the broader community)
T.W. Lewis Foundation Support
T.W. Lewis Foundation is sponsoring a Challenge Grant to help increase new funding for Life Skills scholarships and to hire a First Tee employee to service both the Legacy and Aguila Life Skills programs to support youth in south Phoenix.
"The First Tee has provided a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum and equipment that encourages children to learn the game of golf in a fun, positive environment! The First Tee has given children the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to engage in lifelong physical activity. Thank you for helping us, help children be active and healthy for life!"
